Listing of library listservs

Guidelines for Emory Libraries Listservs

  • LIBWLB-L@LISTSERV.CC.EMORY.EDU (formerly LIBGEN-L) should be used for Woodruff Library building information only and will only include current staff located in the Woodruff Library (including OIT & CFDE staff). Examples of content include renovations, outages, schedule changes, security concerns, etc., of interest to only those located in the Woodruff Library.
  • EULSTAFF-L@LISTSERV.CC.EMORY.EDU (Emory Libraries staff) is a moderated list used for communication with current employees who are a part of Emory Libraries and have a reporting relationship to the vice provost of libraries and museum. Emory Libraries includes Woodruff, ATS, Health, GBL, Rose, and Oxford. Content distributed on this list should be limited to information relevant only to these library employees. Library-wide communications should continue to be sent to LibAll.
  • LIBALL-L@LISTSERV.CC.EMORY.EDU is a moderated list used for library-wide communication. All library staff will be included in this list across all Emory campuses, including retirees. Content should be limited to information related to staff transitions, systems, training, services, programs, exhibitions, and operational information etc. of interest to all library staff.
  • EULMUSESTAFF-L@LISTSERV.CC.EMORY.EDU is a moderated list that includes the LIBALL-L listserv contacts (from all libraries, not just those that report in to the vice provost of libraries and museum) and the Carlos Museum staff. Content should be limited to announcements and information relevant to both.

To assist you in prioritizing and to provide a filter, Librarians Assembly has developed tagging categories that may help. Please use these when sending messages to the lists:

  • Category Tags (for use on library lists only):

When developing a message, please include one of the following category tags in the subject line.

  • [Event]: Announcements of library events that are not meetings such as receptions, speakers, holiday parties, coffee hours, etc.
  • [General]: General announcements not covered by other category tags
  • [Meetings]: Meeting announcements, agendas, minutes, etc.
  • [Outage]: Announcements of a service or software being down or back up
  • [Resources]: Announcements about acquisition of new resources/materials
  • [Staffing]: Announcements of new and departing staff, HR comings/goings emails, reorganization announcements, job talks/interviews
  • [Training]: Announcements about webinars, workshops, conferences, etc.

Other options:
For general information and other types of sharing, Slack is now available for your use. Slack is a tool that allows remote teams to communicate more effectively. You can sign up for the libraries’ Slack workspace using your Emory email address.  Information on using Slack can be found on the Remote Working Guidelines page on Libnet.
